Annapolis Green, partnering with the Electric Vehicle Association of Greater DC and the Maryland Chapter of the Sierra Club, will host the Annapolis Showcase of electric vehicles as part of National Drive Electric Week at Susan Campbell Park on City Dock, from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 10.

Electric vehicle owners and dealers will bring their cars for interested members of the public to see and will answer questions about what it’s like to drive electric including range, cost, performance, government incentives, and benefits to the environment.

Among the vehicles participating are the BMW i3 REx, BMW i8, Cadillac ELR, Chevrolet Volt, Chevy Spark EV, Tesla Model S, BMWi8, Nissan LEAFâ, Kia Soul, Think City, Mercedes Benz B-Class Electric Drive, Electric Drive Coupe Smart Car, and a converted Porsche 914 and a converted Toyota Prius.

There will be information about EV charging equipment as well, and general information about the benefits of alternative energy.

Annapolis is one of more than 100 cities across the country where electric vehicle owners and their neighbors and dealers will hold electric car parades, “tailpipe-free” tailgate parties, recognition of leaders promoting EVs, launches of new public EV charging stations and other public events.

Annapolis Green is organizing the Annapolis event in partnership with the Electric Vehicle Association of Greater DC and the Maryland Chapter of the Sierra Club. Plug In America, the Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association are national organizers.
