Winter Storm Information:

Annapolis Mayor Michael Pantelides declared a State of Emergency in Annapolis, following Maryland Governor Larry Hogan’s declaration of a State of Emergency in Maryland.   The State of Emergency goes into effect 7 a.m. on Friday, January 22 ahead of the storm.

 

During the Annapolis State of Emergency the mayor’s authority includes, but is not limited to:

·         Appointing an incident commander

·         Declaring a curfew

·         Directing the Harbormaster to limit access to city waters

 

Today, Mayor Pantelides also declared a Level 2 Snow Emergency in Annapolis, making it mandatory for all vehicles along the emergency route be removed by 6 p.m. on Friday, January 22 to avoid towing and impound.    

 

To accommodate residents living along the Emergency Route, the city will open the four parking garages at 3 p.m. Friday, January 22:

 

·         Noah Hillman Parking Garage – 150 Gorman Street

·         Gotts Court Parking Garage – 25 Northwest Street

·         Knighton Parking Garage – 1A Colonial Avenue

·         Park Place - 5 Park Place

 

A Level 2 Snow Emergency involves 5 to 8 inches of snow and vehicular parking is banned on emergency snow routes.  Public Work crews expect to make emergency snow routes passable within 24 hours of the end of the snowfall. Snow Connector Routes will be made passable within 36 hours of the end of the snowfall and all other routes will be made passable within 60 hours of the end of the snowfall.  To view all Emergency, Connector and Secondary Routes, go to http://tinyurl.com/zfzz6wa.

 

Meanwhile, refuse and recycling will have regular collection on Friday, January 22 and Annapolis Transit will operate on a regular schedule on Friday, January 22.  The Transit schedule is subject to change as the evening progresses and weather conditions deteriorate.
